Do not wait for the world to tell you who you are. Look in the mirror and tell yourself…who you are

I am Genie Joniqua, a 26-year-old CEO, abuse advocate, children’s book author, book publisher, motivational speaker, and youth mentor. My passion for children and abuse prevention stems from being a victim of child abuse and witnessing it firsthand within my family. This abuse was sexual, physical, verbal, mental, and even financial. The childhood pictures of me may look innocent, but my innocence was stolen before I even knew what “innocence” meant.
The mission of my company is to represent Christ, spread awareness, break dysfunctional generational cycles, and create change around the normalization of abuse in the Black community. After surviving abuse myself, I began working as an abuse advocate in 2023—and I am now beginning to see the fruits of that labor.
From 2023 to 2024, I battled homelessness, the loss of reliable transportation, the absence of family or support, depression, and suicidal ideation. I survived being drugged and poisoned by a male roommate, while also enduring ongoing abuse in my adult life.
In June 2023, I went viral on Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok for exposing the abusers in my family and for fighting for custody of my niece, who was suffering severely from child abuse and neglect.
In April 2025, I went viral twice on Facebook after sharing my traumatic experiences—from childhood to adulthood—and how I overcame them. This inspired people of all ages to support me and reach out for help and guidance in escaping abuse themselves.
As of May 2025, I have singlehandedly reported and initiated the prosecutions of two rapists in Memphis, Tennessee—one of whom I brought to justice while I was experiencing homelessness in 2023. As you read this, both sex offenders are currently in prison.
I also serve as a Youth Mentor at Keel Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis. While I minister to the youth on Saturdays and Sundays, I also create, organize, and fund events that promote positivity among the youth in the Black community.
I am a living, breathing, walking testimony—with countless stories of how I overcame unimaginable adversity before officially becoming a successful business owner.
As I walk in my purpose, I am constantly seeking opportunities to network, grow, and make a bigger impact.
Please join me on my journey to BE the change and CREATE change!
